This wine shows a nice mix of dark stone fruit, mixed with spice aromas that parade past your senses. Loads of flavor depth rolls seemlessly together with hints of cassis, hard blackberry cand, vanilla and blueberry. The barrel aging softens the tannins and lends a long finish that complements many cuisines.
With aromas ranging from ripe Damson plum to toasted vanilla and mint, you need several swirls to take them all in. Sweetness gives way to black elderberry, mission fig, black currant and toasted vanilla. With a very smooth body that stays on your palette a long time.
You realize you will not capture all of the black berry and stone fruit aromas upon your first sniff. You swirl and smell several more times to pick up the sage, black tea and vanilla notes.
